2012 Reading Challenge

At the beginning of 2012 I decided to set a reading goal for myself. I had complained for years that I didn’t have enough time to read… but realized that I had the time, I was just putting it toward other things. So to spur myself on I set a goal of 20 books. The amount cracks me up because I probably read that many books each month when I was in high school. Ha. I’m super happy to say that I finished my 20th book last night. Yeah! And with 6 days to spare. Haha!

I keep track of the books I read, and want to read, on Goodreads. It is there that I set my goal at the beginning of the year. The handy photo above shows all of the books I read last year. I have the Goodreads app on my iPhone which is really handy when I’m at a bookstore. Whenever I see a book that looks good, I scan the ISBN and it saves it. I have nearly 100 books on my to-read list.

Of the books above, I really enjoyed ‘A Tree Grows in Brooklyn’ and the Tatiana and Alexander series. If you have any recommendations for me, leave a comment or send me an email! I try to throw in a book here and there that I wouldn’t normally read so I’m open to pretty much any genre.

  1. I love this idea. What did you think of Little Bee? I read it a few years ago and remember it made me sad. I need to get back into reading…thanks for the inspiration 🙂

    • Little Bee wasn’t my favorite book of the year. Haha. It kept my attention throughout the book but I wouldn’t really recommend it.
