The first time I saw poinsettas planted in the ground was after we’d moved to California. You can ask my husband, I pretty much freaked out at the sight. Because, seriously, enjoying a leisurely walk through Old Town Pasadena in 60 degree weather in December is one thing, seeing poinsettas growing and looking completely healthy in the ground was quite another. Of course, it makes sense, there are a number of flowers that bloom here year-round. It’s just that poinsettas are Christmas flowers and I guess I still equate Christmas with frigid temperatures and snow. Can’t take the Minnesota out of the girl, as they say.
Tonight on my walk through town I saw this yard and had to share. I’m not sure how many of you have seen this before but it always brings a giant smile to my face.
