Sooooo, Matt and I have made some minor changes in the last few months… we were both accepted into grad school, Matt graduated from CSULB with a degree in Philosophy and a minor in Religious Studies, I quit my job of four years, we started classes at Concordia University Irvine, and WE ARE MOVING TO CHINA IN AUGUST!
We are so excited! We were planning to (probably) leave the country again after Matt graduated but this opportunity came along and made so much sense for us. Both of us have different things we’d like to be involved in in the future and this will help each of us do the things we want to do in the future. I can hardly handle myself because teaching and traveling again is going to be so great!
Concordia offers this great Master’s degree program in International Studies. We are studying for two weeks online now, we’ll have six weeks of classes on campus, and then we’ll continue studying online for two semesters while we are teaching English in China. We will have the following summer to write our theses (we aren’t sure where in the world we’ll do that yet).
Another exciting thing is that we were both hired at Zhejiang University of Media and Communications in Hangzhou. We do not have our teaching schedules yet, so they may not line up with each other, but it’ll be nice to know that we are working at the same place and will see each other periodically throughout the day (if not more).
So. much. fun!
