Wanderlusting

Travel photos suck me in. Whether I’m on the internet or at a bookstore, I could sit for hours looking at them. Pinterest has become a really easy place for me to catalog great photos online. Of course, I get very little done when I click my way over there BUT I find travel to be so inspiring. I sit and dream about all the places I have yet to see–it’s a never-ending time suck that I love!

My husband took the above photograph of me on our first morning in Phnom Penh, Cambodia several years ago. I love this moment. I had just woken up from a crazy night’s sleep and was checking out some issue on my leg. I’m a bit of a hypochondriac on the road and thought a small bump looked suspect. Haha! Anyway, both Matt and I loved Cambodia and we loved the view from this guesthouse. There was so much activity on the river and street below. One morning Matt called me to the balcony as an elephant walked past on the sidewalk. It was crazy cool!

We took a cooking class while we were in Phnom Penh so that we could learn about, prepare, and eat some delicious Khmer food. They took us to a market to buy the fresh ingredients and then we had class overlooking the Mekong river. We were only in the capital city for a couple of days before heading out to Siem Reap (hello Angkor Wat!) but we had a great time while we were there.

I really want to go abroad again to experience more of the world. There is so much to see, do, learn, eat, etc. When I realized that we wouldn’t be doing any traveling in the upcoming year, I started to compile a “wanderlist” so that I’d be ready to go when the time comes! If you use Pinterest, you can follow my ‘Wanderlust‘ board to see what I’m talking about. Haha!

Do you have any travel plans for the next 12 months? I’d love to hear about them!
